Public invited to forum on gay teens

OGDEN — A community open forum featuring nationally known experts on how families can work with gay teens to support them in school and prevent teen suicide will be held Thursday at the Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College business and technology building, 200 N. Washington Blvd.

The 7 p.m. forum will feature Dr. Caitlin Ryan, of the Family Acceptance Project, and Mitch Mayne, who is openly gay and is an executive secretary in a bishopric in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in San Francisco.

Ryan and Mayne are in town for a two-day LGBT Youth Summit at Weber State University on Friday and Saturday, sponsored by Ogden OUTreach. The forum will be a preview of issues to be discussed at the summit, an open question and answer session and reception.

For more information on the summit, call 801-686-4528 or visit http://ogdenoutreach.org.
